Terunofuji absent from Autumn meeting with injuries to both knees

Yokozuna Terunofuji withdrew from the Autumn Grand Sumo Tournament on Tuesday after sustaining injuries to both knees, the sport’s only top-ranked wrestler needing three weeks to recover.

The 30-year-old of Mongolian descent, who lost to No.4 maegashira Takayasu on Monday for his fourth loss at Ryogoku Kokigikan, showed signs of discomfort in his long-troubled right knee this month.
